The Naturesave Trust – New Projects January 2014

« Go back

The Naturesave Trust has been busy over the last couple of months, keeping in touch with all of our successful applicants and finding out about the progress of their projects, but we are pleased to announce that we have released funding to two worthy projects this month: Core50 Ackers Project and West Solent Solar Cooperative.

We’d thought we would take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about both of these projects.

Core50 Ackers Adventure
Core50 approached The Naturesave Trust to see if we could help with funding towards their bat survey prior to applying for planning permission for their wind turbine. They intend to install a 20kW turbine at 119 metres above sea level at the Ackers Adventure site between the ski slope and the climbing tower. It is hoped that the turbine will generate more electricity than the on-site ski centre, helping Ackers Adventure towards its goal of becoming carbon neutral. The planning permission has been submitted and they are awaiting the decision.

West Solent Solar Cooperative Ltd
West Solent Solar Cooperative Ltd is a community energy project looking to develop a 2.5MW solar project. They approached The Naturesave Trust for funding towards start up costs and planning permission. The permission is about the be granted and they are working with Energy4All to raise all the funding needed to get the project off the ground. West Solent Solar will be making a public share issue this month (although priority will be given to local residents).

Congratulations to both of our successful applicants. If this sounds familiar and you are looking for help to fund your community renewable energy project, please have a read through the information in the Trust section of our website (The Naturesave Trust) and send us your application.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
