Green Insurance Growth

« Go back

We are delighted to announce that following our recent office move we have now expanded our team to twelve. From our new headquarters in Totnes, we will continue to provide insurances services across UK, as the country’s leading green insurance provider. See naturesave.co.uk

Founded by Matt Criddle in 1993, and winner of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2011, Naturesave has seen some big changes in the last five years. In that time company turnover has increased by over 50% whilst gross written premiums (gwp) have grown by 45%. The business has capitalised on homeowners and businesses becoming increasingly interested in more sustainable solutions for everyday services, such as insurance.

Interestingly, our fastest growing sector in this period has been renewable energy, which last year accounted for over £500,000 of gross written premiums. The number of clients insuring renewable energy assets has increased by over 500%, and now accounts for almost 20% of company turnover.

Our customers are primarily environmentally conscious homeowners, businesses, together with community energy groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations. The recent growth is down to our unique ability to offer an ethical approach, backed by fantastic service and competitive prices.

Naturesave’s insurance premiums are used to fund the Naturesave Trust. The Trust provides financial support and advice to environmental projects and green business start-ups throughout the UK. To date, over half a million pounds has been awarded. See naturesave.co.uk/trust

We also see ourselves as an agent for change within the insurance industry. It is this ethos that is behind the company’s latest campaign to highlight how the industry, through its underwriting and investments, has become one of the world’s biggest investors in fossil fuels. The campaign aims to encourage the insurance industry to divest from all fossil fuel investments. See naturesave.co.uk/about-us/campaign-for-insurance-divestment/
