Grant to assist expansion for wood recycling social enterprise

The Naturesave Trust has provided a grant to support a social enterprise that offers a wood recycling service and employment opportunities for people with mental health issues as well as physical and learning difficulties.

RAW’s Wood Recycling service offers a professional waste wood collection and recycling service to developers, housebuilders and local authorities. In the process, the charity reduces carbon emissions, increase reuse rates and create significant human social impact.

Alongside RAW’s furniture manufacturing workshop and retail unit, Wood Recycling increases the amount of opportunities we can create for people who have walked challenging life-paths whilst also contributing to the circular economy.

“This grant will allow is to further expand our recycling operation at a time when demand is growing” says Rick Mower, MD of RAW. “We’re determined to show that nobody should be judged by their past and that businesses can, and should, generate wider sustainability benefits. With this grant we will be able to reach more commercial customers and therefore, increase our social and environmental impact”.
