20 April 2010: Naturesave Trust Community Renewable Energy Grants
Since the government introduced the Feed-In Tariffs for small scale renewable energy systems, the interest in community renewable energy schemes has grown dramatically. However, as the costs involved can be onerous and it may be difficult to find funding for the early stages of a project, in particular preliminary studies to enable communities to get to the planning and installation stage.
The Naturesave Trust now provides 'seed corn' grants for community renewable energy projects, for whatever type of renewable power generation you are considering. For more information, and an application form, click here. If you have any queries, please contact Emma Birch or Matthew Criddle on 01803 864390.
More information on Community Renewable Energy and how to go about it can be found on the Energy Saving Trust's website at www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/cafe.
8 July 2009: The Naturesave Grove
Naturesave has established a grove of trees in the Highlands of Scotland to celebrate the continued support from our long-standing household clients who have insured their property with Naturesave for the past 10 years or more. The Grove is funded by The Naturesave Trust, which, in turn, is directly funded from the premiums paid by Naturesave's household clients! The Grove has been planted by Trees for Life as part of their ongoing work to re-establish a wild, native forest in the Scottish Highlands. For more information about their mission and achievements to date, click here.
To date we have planted 70 trees in the grove, on top of the 200 trees we planted through the Woodland Trust, and we hope to plant many more over the years to come.
